When I'm not sketching, drawing and or painting, I enjoy swimming, hiking and playing tennis. I have always had a passions for nature based compositions. I like to focus on the simplification of nature and natural environments. Some compositions have lost all representationalism becoming completely abstract. I feel artwork should transcend the creator and the viewer. It should evoke an aesthetic response not just because of what it represents but because of its own sentient existence. An exchange should occur between the artist, artwork and the viewer, sometimes pleasant and sometimes not so pleasant.
I am an artist as well as an art teacher
having taught middle school, high school and college art students for 40 years. I have submitted my art to numerous juried and no-juried exhibitions, galleries and shows throughout
the Caribbean and the United States.
I attended the College of St. Rose, Albany N.Y.
for my Master Degree in Art Education and
Nazareth College of Rochester, N.Y for my
Bachelor of Science Degree in Fine Art.
I use a variety of mediums mostly 2-dimensional mixed media with acrylic paint and varnish.
